- Read the Rules - Each level shows different modifiers. Read carefully!
- Collect Coal - Find coal scattered around and bring it to the furnace
- Power Breakers - Locate batteries to power the lighting system
- Avoid Cobb - Use stealth, darkness, and timing to escape
- Manage Resources - Watch your oxygen and food meters if applicable
Developer Notes
From the Creator
Cobb Can Move was created in approximately 6 days for Major Jam 7. This project marked several firsts for the developer:
- First large game jam participation
- First horror game
- First smart enemy AI implementation
- First directional audio
- First seeded chunk-generation dungeon environment
The first few days focused on core mechanics - player movement, item pickup/drop, and coal delivery. The randomly generating environment was prototyped by day 2, but initially just repeated rooms in a grid. Thanks to Federico Calchera, room generation was improved using a "Drunk walker" algorithm that created actual winding paths.
The conveyor belt system was added because carrying coal to the furnace became cumbersome - now you just drop coal near the center and it automatically delivers. The mechanic adds charm while maintaining strategic depth.
Cobb's design evolved from a simple sprite to a creature with large IK-animated arms, inspired by the Janitor from Little Nightmares. The combination of directional audio and screen shake transformed the seemingly harmless creature into something genuinely unsettling.

Several rules were considered but not implemented due to time constraints:
